How AI Describes the Fortune 100

#DataNovemberAbout this series

Every day this November, Five Blocks is sharing research our team produces with data from AIQ and IMPACT, our own platforms for tracking what AI engines and Google say about companies and their leaders. We would love your feedback. If we can help with your own research or reputation needs, get in touch. See all #DataNovember studies.

#DataNovember, Day 1. We asked eight AI engines to “tell me about” every Fortune 100 company, every day from September 6 to October 6, 2026: 24,675 answers and 181,334 citations to 2,581 websites.

What we found

  • 82% of answers cite the company’s own website. It is AI’s #1 source.
  • 56% cite Wikipedia, and 92% of Google AI Mode answers do. ChatGPT: 3%.
  • 8 websites supply half of all citations outside company sites.
  • 67% of Google AI Mode answers cite YouTube. Social media is a Google story.
  • Only 7.7% of answers mention an event from the last three months.
  • 35% of negative points come from a single engine. The engines agree on facts, not problems.
  • 43% of dated serious negatives are about events from 2020 or earlier. AI has a long memory.
