Can you make negative press disappear?

Not in most cases. Lawful negative coverage is generally protected and stays in the public record, even when it is unfair or one-sided. A serious firm tells a client this plainly rather than promising what cannot be delivered.

The narrow cases where press can actually be removed

Removal is possible only in specific, limited situations:

• Defamation that survives legal scrutiny, a false statement of fact, presented as fact, against an identifiable subject.
• Factual errors the outlet corrects, most reputable outlets have published corrections policies and will fix documented errors when properly sourced.
• A specific platform-policy violation, content that breaches a published rule on the host platform.
• DMCA takedowns, where copyrighted material has been scraped or republished without permission.
• GDPR “right to be forgotten” delisting, available only to individuals in the EU/UK, not in US-only situations.

None of these covers the bulk of lawful negative coverage. Platforms remove content that breaks their rules or the law; they do not remove content simply because its subject dislikes it.

What we actually do: durable displacement plus correction

Because the article usually cannot be taken down, the work is to change what stakeholders see when they look:

• Durable displacement, building authoritative content that outranks the negative article on the search results page and that AI engines weight more heavily. A single corporate site rarely carries enough authority to displace a tier-one news article on a name query, so this is a content-and-authority effort, not a quick fix.
• Source-level correction, requesting fixes through legitimate editorial channels where the reporting contains factual errors. These requests are private exchanges between the requester and the publication, not public statements.
