Sam Michelson
Chief Executive Officer, Founder
After receiving his BA in psychology and his Masters in management, Sam served as an organizational psychologist in the Israel Defense Forces. For 10 years, Sam served in various product management roles at internet start-up companies, before developing his own website to sell VOIP products in 2003. That first site, YouNeverCall.com later morphed into an online cell phone superstore, at its height processing over $7M/year in cell phone and accessory sales.
By 2004, the company had started extensive lead generation work for a leading Mesothelioma law firm in Houston, managing several million US$ in online ad spend and SEO annually. From there, the company expanded into luxury condos sales, leading the SEO and PPC for The W Hotels Las Vegas Hotel. Today, Sam manages the company’s vision and growth, working directly with many of our partners to grow the company while overseeing the development of our technology.
Aaron Frazer
Chief Technology Officer
Aaron is responsible for building and managing the core learning engine, at the heart of Five Blocks’ success. His team also develops and maintains the systems that enable us to: monitor client results; deploy and manage our web assets; and compile and crunch historical resulting in our guided plan of action. Aaron comes with years of experience in programming and is currently completing a graduate thesis focusing on computer-driven statistical analysis of large and complex data sets, and construction of predictive models.
Steve Shochet
Chief Operating Officer
In his 6th year at the company, Steve has a background working in both small and large organizations. He has organized large scale multi-year campaigns, and has also been responsible for implementing a system of quality control at multiple organizations. He is responsible for planning and implementing many of the SEO and paid advertising programs we use. Steve manages many of the company’s day-to-day operations including working with the content and web creation groups and managing key strategic partner relationships
Daniel Wolf
Director of Research and Development
Daniel works with Aaron Frazer to develop web-based applications and scripts for internal use. He also develops the capabilities that our website visitors see on our sites. Daniel has years of experience in education with an emphasis on educating educators. Using Daniel’s tools, Five Blocks has developed hundreds of online web assets in support of our various client programs.
Andy Levy-Stevenson
Chief Search Officer
Andy brings creativity and professionalism from his early training in theater. During his twenty years in marketing communications, he has held positions in television, public radio and community theater and has also owned his own design studio. Andy transitioned from print design to online marketing ten years ago and has consulted with clients in a variety of industries including education, arts, health care, industrial supplies, consumer products and public policy. He holds degrees from Birmingham University in the UK and from the University of Kansas. Andy leads much of the SEO research that takes place at Five Blocks and he also manages key reputation management accounts.
