What is Five Blocks’ Search Engine (Google) analysis process?

Quick answer

We audit SERPs across priority keywords, locations, and languages through IMPACT, classify every ranking URL by ownership and SERP feature, then build a prioritized remediation plan around content, entity, and authority work, tracked through monthly keyword-level reporting.

Five Blocks’ Google analysis begins by running the client’s keyword set through IMPACT™ across the geographies and languages their audience searches in. Every ranking URL is then classified, and the result is a prioritized remediation plan that addresses content, entity, and authority together, tied to monthly keyword-level reporting.

Five Blocks' SERP analysis process, from running the keyword set through IMPACT to monthly keyword-level reporting.

The analysis process

  1. Run the keyword set at scale. IMPACT™ runs queries across the client’s defined keyword set: executive names, brand names, products, controversies, and industry terms, across the geographies and languages the audience searches in.
  2. Classify every ranking URL. Each result is classified along three dimensions:
    • Ownership: client-owned, earned, third-party, or hostile.
    • SERP feature: organic, AI Overview, People Also Ask, knowledge panel, image, video, or news.
    • Relevance: topical relevance to the query intent.
  3. Map exposure and leverage. The output shows where the SERP is solid, where it is exposed, and where a change will do the most.
  4. Remediate in three parallel tracks. The plan works three layers at once:
    • Content: filling gaps with authoritative pages.
    • Entity: Wikidata, schema, sameAs links, and the Knowledge Panel.
    • Authority: third-party coverage that wins citation slots.
  5. Report monthly at the keyword level. The plan ties to monthly reporting that tracks specific keyword-level outcomes.
