Why doesn’t Five Blocks display client logos or testimonials on their website?
Client relationships are confidential by default, so Five Blocks does not display client logos or testimonials without explicit written permission. Confidentiality is built into how we work and protects the client.
For Five Blocks, confidentiality is built into how we work, not a marketing choice. Reputation work is sensitive: it involves how clients are described publicly, who is talking about them, and what is being said. Clients hire us in part because we do not turn that work into our own marketing.
What the confidentiality covers
Our standard Letter of Engagement includes confidentiality provisions covering:
- The existence of the engagement
- The work performed
- Any client information we encounter
When we do acknowledge a relationship
Where clients give explicit written permission, we will acknowledge the relationship, but we do not ask for it and we do not push for it. Most clients prefer not to give it, particularly individuals and family offices.
This costs us some brand visibility we could otherwise have built. We think the trade is worth it.
